Hop Pickers Activities

David, Louise and the family live on site and are happy to help you plan any days out and walking routes – just ask!

The Cowshed (Games Room)

For those English rainy days an old working cowshed has been renovated to provide a superb Games room with Table Tennis, darts,Scalextric.  We have just added a relaxation corner with leather sofa, TV, video player,Wii and a selection of board games with a large wood burner and supply of logs to keep you warm.

The Swimming Pool

Heated outdoor swimming pool is operational from the end of May to early September.  We like to keep it at a very pleasant 82 degrees.  There are sun loungers and chairs kept in the pool house and we ask guests to bring their own swimming towels.  Rather than giving a set time the pool is shared between the 3 properties and our family.

The Tennis Court

This is in need of resurfacing but is fine for a fun knock around and has been very popular this summer and especially around Wimbledon!  You can book a slot in the book kept in The Cowshed.

Woodland Walk & Wildlife Hide

Around the perimeter of the field we have mown a track which winds through the trees taking you up to the wildlife hide and the old oast ponds.  There are cherry trees, hazelnut, walnut and apple trees and you are welcome to pick your own.  The wildlife hide overlooks the pond and an active badger sett which if you sit quietly as dusk falls you are usually able to spot some of our resident badgers of Brockamin.

Outdoor Play Area

A swing set and hanging hoops plus a large unnetted trampoline are located between the tennis court and swimming pool

We have a number of fruit trees, herbs, horseradish, blackberries, damsons.  Ask Louise where and when is the best place to pick your own.

Mobile Spa

A team of highly qualified friendly therapists can provide organic health and beauty treatments in the comfort of your holiday retreat.  For groups we can book out The Cowshed for your personal use.  These exclusive Spa Days are designed for everyone to experience and enjoy no matter what age or gender…simply unwind from start to finish.

We have hens, ducks, dogs, cats and horses.  If you have a pony mad child we are happy to arrange grooming sessions and care for our retired pony Storm.  The Farrier also visits every 6 weeks if you would like to watch the horses having their new shoes put on.

The Hot Tub

This is exclusively for The Shepherds Hut however if there is no one staying in the hut this may be booked at a small supplement. Unfortunately availability may not be guaranteed until the last minute.
