Spring into action and visit our local National Trust properties

Hop Pickers is in a great location to visit a number of stunning National Trust properties, many of which have some special Easter activities available

Our closest is The Firs  - Elgar’s birthplace less than 6 miles away.  Visit the delightful cottage in which Sir Edward Elgar was born, discover the gardens and pop in to the brand new tea room.  Music at The Firs, listen to classical and modern music performed in the birthplace of one of England’s finest composers and discover music which you may have never heard before.

Croome Court is just 14 miles away, the former home of the 6thEarl of Coventry you can view the magnificent restored house full of exhibitions. Visit Britains largest walled garden (open at weekends at an extra £5), follow clues on an outdoor family trail (extra £2) between 6-28 April, there is an Easter egg hunt, face painting and Easter basket making and also discover the secrets of the Second World War airbase at the visitor centre RAF Defford.  Dogs welcome with downloadable walks and trails.

Brockhampton 7.48 miles away, a traditionally farmed estate and medieval manor house.  Discover the house that has changed little in hundreds of years and explore the glorious Herefordshire countryside.  Dogs are welcome.

Greyfriars House, Worcester 6.8 miles away is a rescued late medieval merchant’s house built in 1480.

Hanbury Hall, 400 cares to explore less than 20 miles away.  Special dawn chorus walks in May starting at 6.30am with an RSPB expert visiting the gardens and parkland followed by a hearty breakfast (£18 including breakfast)

Croft Castle and Parkland near Leominster 27 miles away.  1500 acres, 4500 years of history all waiting for you to explore.

Highly Commended At Tourism Awards

After the Visit Worcestershire Tourism Awards on the 20th of March, I’ve taken a little time to properly reflect - not just on the results, but on the feedback we received and what it means for Hop Pickers going forward.

We were incredibly proud to be named Finalists in Camping, Glamping & Holiday Park of the Year, and to receive Highly Commended in Self-Catering Accommodation of the Year.

It was also lovely to see our recognition shared more widely in the local press, highlighting the work that goes into running a small, family-run rural retreat.
